River City
Group, CCA Release Annual I-Gaming Report
One of the
Internet's money-making industries, e-gambling, continues to
thrive. According to gaming industry analyst Sebastian Sinclair of
Christiansen Capital Advisors LLC (CCA), the online gambling
business will grow from a $3.1 billion industry to a $6.3 billion
industry by 2003. The second edition of E-Gambling: Wagering on
the Internet includes growth projections, as well as I-gaming
company profiles, information on 1,400 gaming Web sites and
detailed descriptions of Internet gaming laws and
regulations for more than 50 jurisdictions. A joint effort by CCA
and The River City Group, LLC, "Wagering on the
Internet" is a comprehensive industry forecast. The report
covers interactive gambling from its inception through the year
2000 and is an annual comprehensive study that describes the
business of commercial wagering/gambling in the world of
electronic communications. Overall, the study indicates that the
outlook for interactive gaming, even with efforts to halt its
expansion in Australia and prohibit it in the United States,
remains positive. Sinclair explained: "E-gambling continues
to grow at an astounding pace and despite the threats of limited
moratoriums, potential prohibitions, and actions taken by credit
card issuers, the future of this industry is bright." He
added, "Technologies are now being developed to effectively
regulate new media gambling and an increasing number of nations
and states are exploring (and enacting) legislation to regulate
the industry. E-gambling is quickly becoming a mainstream
activity."
Sue Schneider, CEO of The River City Group, added, "Those
looking for a complete background on the industry will find
everything they need in this one report." Comprised of
