Emerald sues state over license rejection
Emerald Casino Inc. sued the Illinois Gaming Board Monday, saying the denial of an application to renew and relocate its gaming license to Rosemont was unjustified.

Emerald wants the Cook County Circuit Court to issue an order saying the gaming board had no choice but to approve Emerald's application for the $100 million complex, according to Michael A. Ficaro, a lawyer representing Emerald.

Experts Promote Legalization of Internet Gambling in Nevada
The state of Nevada would earn substantial tax revenue from the regulation of Internet gambling, according to some experts who monitor online gambling. The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing Tuesday on a bill that would legalize Internet gambling in Nevada.

The maximum state tax on Nevada casino revenue is 6.25 percent, a figure the state would charge Nevada-licensed companies for every dollar won through their Web sites, according to the proposed legislation.
